Any receive theirs yet? The review in CTT (I love all train mags..) makes me really like it a lot. Very creative use of old and new tooling...making a fun set in the classic Lionel manner. The engines have nice steel frames etc.

The diesel exhaust feature is a first for Lionel in an entry level item?
I just read the review, it is too bad that they mixed up the eras so much.
I would have went for it if they had painted the engines in the red pac man scheme or the caboose in a 1950's scheme.

The photo of the CP RS-3s in the CTT article shows that the truck on the short end extends about 3/4 of an inch past the end of the frame, so that the steps on the truck don't line up with the frame. This is similar to the step/frame line up issue discussed in the thread on the Lionel Legacy GP-30.
