Lionel Diesel Truck Assembly Removal

Trying to replace the front electrocoupler on my Lionel UP SD-70M (6-28239). To remove the t-pin for the coupler it looks like I have to remove the front pilot. I cannot get to the pilot mounting screw since it is between the frame and truck. Anybody know what I need to do in order to get the truck loose. This unit has can motors but not sure what has to be loosened/removed to separate the truck from the frame.

Rotate the truck 90 degrees and it should come right off

Thanks for the prompt reply Jake, however, I tried what you suggest and no go. If I turn it much harder something is going to break. All I have apart right now is the cab off and the keeper off the coupler mounting pin keeper.

That is for the newer "Liondrive Trucks" I don't think this loco has them.

Remove screws 30 and 38,then lift off the motor mount block. While you have it apart check the screws that hold the motor,I have found many of them loose on my Sd-80's.

That did it Doug. I had screw #38 out but I overlooked screw #30 down in the half moon opening slot in the frame. That's all it needed to loosen up. Wish me luck on getting this all back together. Quite a bit more work than I expected for a coupler.
