Thanks for the pics John. This is a six wheel truck. The motor sits between the two inboard pair of drivers. I had to remove the screw that holds the inboard roller assembly to  truck and also has the roller power wire lug under it. In addition the two inboard flathead screws that hold the sideframes to the truck had to be removed. These three are accessible from the topside of the frame through a curved slot.

Was this designed by German's? They could care less about the servicing too.

That's alot different than the SD-80 trucks from what I remember. To be honest that's one thing I don't care for with the new parts diagrams. the older ones as illustrations showed more how things went together,and now they show it disassembeled laid out for part numbers. I do like what Mike is doing with service but it still would be nice to have illustrations of how it comes apart or put together.
