Lionel E series Diesel question

Am receiving a non-powered Burlington E3 A unit that "is missing the 4 small springs that connect the headlight frame" somehow according to the seller. My email address book is down for a few days and I cannot access several parts dealers I know.
Can anyone help explain what I am looking for here with these springs?

I believe the springs are the small copper colored ones inserted in the "plug" that makes electrical connections between the shell and the frame on Lionel diesels.
