I have a set of legacy F3s (6-38597 and Pwd B 6-38700) that have some noise when the set runs. Is there a fix?

I would recommend you grease both the external gears seen in the video and even maybe take the motor off the truck to grease inside the truck. Also apply oil to bearing. Seems to be just be dry.

Alright. I'll give that a shot.

The rear truck looks great.  On your front truck, the axle toward the fuel tank seems not to have good overlap with the idler gears.

The above thread discusses using the plastic clip from a bread bag or other spacer washer to take up some of the side-to-side play, and ensure good mesh with the spur gears on the outside of the truck block.  I'm not sure if this is the source of your noise, but you could try it ,and then just remove the plastic clip if it doesn't solve your problem.
