You can use both the TMCC base and the Legacy base by connecting together the RS232 port of the 2 bases with an RS232 cable. However, do not connect the single track wire to the TMCC base, only to the Legacy base. The single wire of the Legacy base goes to both layouts as Marty said. The Cab-1 and Cab-2 will be able to control both layouts.

Definitely conflict of signal.

I have seen TMCC/Legacy engines refuse to run in conventional if a Command or Legacy base is switched on. On another layout in the same building.

You have to be very careful you don't have more than one engine with the same ID number running on different layouts. This becomes a potential problem at shows. Oh and if one person pushes the Halt button all TMCC/Legacy layouts stop... Ask me how I know......

These guys are all right on. A friend of mine and myself where running Legacy and TMCC engines last Saturday with two CAB2-L Legacy remotes through one base. It worked just fine we had four trains running on two tracks. I know the halt button all too well. If you want to run a CAB1-L TMCC remote with it, then you have to connect the Legacy base and the Base1-L with the port terminals.
