I brought the engine to a repair place a few weeks ago and just got it back today. They weren't able to fix it. I'll keep looking at it, but I don't know what else I can do.
If they weren't able to fix it, how is it running?
My guess is that they completely disassembled it and somehow reassembled it in a way that got rid of the short circuit. I just ran it again for about 15 minutes. The heat sink got a little warm, but nowhere near as hot as it used to. I doubt that the FET on the DCDS will fry again, unless maybe I run it continuously for a really long time. Why they thought they didn't fix it, I have no idea, but I'm certainly not complaining.
