This is the first Tin Plate I have looked at. The Great Northern #256 Electric and the Great Northern 3 car 0 gauge 710 series Pax cars. This is from page 16 in the Lionel 2013 catalog. What is the minimum radius for running this train? I did not see it mentioned anywhere. I want to run it on my o gauge layout. After our spectacular trip to Glacier National Park last summer, this has my attention. Thank you.

I run mine on 036 Fastrack but I'm pretty sure you can run it on 031 tubular.
I have one on pre-order (it also is in the Great Northern paint scheme). It will be my fourth 256, so it's obvious I kind of like those engines. Scheduled to be released this month, I believe. It it a large locomotive--larger than any of the other O gauge tinplate I currently have. Mine operate on O36 FasTrack curves just fine.
My friend Jeff has run his on my 031 Fastrack. 036 would be a lot smoother though.

It should be OK. The originals were meant to run on 31 inch tubular track. Mine runs perfectly well on the 31 inch stuff.
Agree with the the others. Mine runs on O31 tubular and it's fine. As Allan mentions, this is a very large train for O gauge.
When Lionel introduced the 256 locomotive in 1924, the ONLY "0" gauge track that they made had a 31" diameter. If the new 256 is a legitimate copy it should operate on 0-31 track and switches without any problems.
