Lionel O-36 Manual Switches

The best I have ever done on the switches was $30.00. Problem. Is that if your getting them shipped then it is almost worth a trip to the LHS and pay the $44.

I believe this was discussed a few weeks ago on the Forum. The story was that Lionel changed manufacturers and the molds for the Fastrack switches never made it from the old manufacturer to the new manufacturer, so new molds have to be made. If this is true, it will be a long time before we see Fastrack switches.

I got my pair from one of the track sets. I thought I got a pretty good price at the time when you consider the other track pieces you get. If your money is tight, that might be the way to go. I have seen the O-36 remote ones as low as $69 each. Depending on your situation, it might be worth the wait to save up for those.

I am regretting not going with wider radius curves and switches and I bet I am not the only one. You can probably find gently used remote switches for a decent price. Keep checking the For Sale forum and/or post on the Wanted to Buy forum.

Is this true for all of them or just the O-36? Do you have a pointer to the thread?

So that's what's going on. My local dealer ran out of them for the first time ever, and claimed not to know why Lionel wasn't sending him any more.
