It is a model of a P&H Mining Shovel.

In 1884, in Milwaukee, WI, Alonzo Pawling and Henry Harnishfeger established a manufacturing business that grew to P&H Mining Equipment.

Today, P&H shovels are used in surface mining. They range in size from a payload of 21 tons for the smallest (the P&H 1900AL) to 120 tons for the largest (the P&H 4100XPC). They are used to load gigantic trucks and in crusher/conveyor systems. They are powered by electricity.

These giants are something to behold. They look as though someone "kitbashed" a huge garage and a skyscraper.
