Lionel TW and TIU question

Barry says no in another thread here.  The fuse from the transformer to the TIU, as long as it's 10A or less, should be sufficient.  The fixed channels go directly through, and the variable ones are rated for 10A power handling.  There are 20A fuses in the TIU, at least the Rev. L models, and I'm pretty sure other versions as well.

fellas on the subject of the TIU.  Do I need to hook up all 3 bricks to the TIU to get power to each track.  Or, just 1 brick to run 3 tracks.  I have not read the book yet either or watched some of the youtube threads yet. 

i cant wait till I get the 3 engines going on DCS.  I hear the world of difference with features you unlock.  I have a premier BNSF that should be fun and the PCC trolley that shoud be cool with the station stops to program in.  Then I have a hudson steamer should be fun also 

As long as you don't exceed the capability of one brick on all tracks, you can connect one to all four inputs if you like.  The rule of thumb is each input should have circuit protection for 10A, since that's the maximum each channel supports.  If you have your brick or transformer protected for 10A or less, have at it.

   I have been running DCS per Barry's advise & instruction for many years and have never damaged a TIU, I do however use the 10 Amp breakers, for instant reset if required. 

You are so right you got to love the slow speed control via the DCS, along with all the sounds and remote switch control operation using a AIU.
