My wifi module is not working. When plugging in the pdi cable the red light flashes and then the green flashes once. When looking for the wifi signal on my ipad it is not available. The DCS system is listed as well as my home network. This system worked fine previously. Took a long break over the summer and found this problem. The legacy handheld device works well.

I've attached the LCS WiFi Monitor setup files and the matching documentation, that should be a big help in getting it connected.  FWIW, I couldn't get mine connected when I got it without using the monitor.  I tried three different routers, and none of them recognized the WPS from the WiFi module.  I had to use the monitor to manually configure it so it would connect to my router, then all was well.

The WiFi monitor made it much easier to configure.  IMO it was a very lame move by Lionel to depend on WPS knowing how many situations it doesn't work in.

Until I got the LCS WiFi monitor, I could only get their WPS to work on one old router that wasn't part of my network, it was something I'd long since retired.  At least that limited success convinced me the WiFi could work, so I went from there when the WiFi monitor was released.  The manual configuration was the Silver Bullet and I never looked back.

I am not trying to connect it to my home router I just want to be able to connect it to my ipad. It does not seem to be sending out a signal for the ipad to see. Allof my other devices are working. DCS and my home router are showing up. Is there a reset button somewhere on the Lionel module? I have cycled the power several times with no luck.

OP's problem is inability to connect to the WiFi.  The LCS WiFi Monitor LE program is useless without a WiFi connection (and it needs a Windows PC to run).  If the iPad connected before, PRR1644's suggestion is a starting point, although I haven't had a similar problem with my iPad over several software updates.

Is the LCS WiFi set to be an access point or is it joined to another network?  Try the WiFi in access point mode.  If a connection is made,  then you know the wireless works.

Look at the LCS WiFi Monitor LE Manual Installation and Operation PDF posted above. On page 10 is a Reset.

Note that's using the WiFi Monitor, that's why I posted it.  There is no reset on the box or possible with any of the button configurations.  That's why I resorted to using the WiFi monitor, unless it just "works" with the basic configuration, that's the path you have to take.

That's totally untrue!

You set the LCS WiFi to AP mode, and then search for that network with your computer.  As far as a Windows PC, countless folks use Parallels or other Windows emulators for the MAC in these situations.  Also, if this is such a hardship, just take to a friend or find a laptop to borrow that is Windows based.  Once you have used the WiFi monitor to configure the LCS WiFi box, you don't need the Windows connection or the WiFi monitor in the future.

I hasten to add, I didn't see the OP state he didn't have a Windows system to use, so you're getting the cart before the horse anyway.
