Looking for 3rd Rail NYC Mercury Passenger cars

Tough to find - they show up on the bay from time to time - I have been looking for a set, too....

If they do show up on ebay, I hope I don't have to fight over them with you.

Do you mind if it is a 3 way fight?

Oh well, let the better man win. I talked to Scott at 3rd Rail. They have a couple returned sets because they need repair (very fragile parts) he could sell, but they are missing the tail car, the most important piece.

I think MrMuffin forgot that he already has a set!!...I remember him saying he had a set to go along with the locomotive in a thread over a year ago when another forumite was asking questions about a set that was on an auction site. Muff...you have too many trains you can't remember all of them!!

Oh, shoot. I have a set? I had better go look! I can't tell you how many trains I have bought twice because I didn't check. Usually happens with Lionel steamers. So stupid.

Muffin...the only reason why I remember is I was looking for a set at the time when a topic was posted about the cars on the forum. As it turns out, the poster was trying to get some information on some cars that were up for auction on E-Bay which he did not mention... As it turned out, I remember you posting that you had just won a set that evening and through a few more posts it was apparent the you and the poster were eying the same set on the bay.

I was also considering bidding on them but the time got away from me and I remembered about a half hour after you won them! Anyway, I think this is all correct but I may have the exact details confused...

You are exactly right - I won them on an auction I found because I searched google just to see if they were out there anyplace after reading that post in December of 2010 and won them for $325... On the same auction I won a 3rd Rail PRR T-1 for like $200 and when it came it turned out to be the first issue MTH version.... I asked the seller if I could return it and he refunded my money and then told me to use keep it.... Crazy all of this was happening because of that post on the forum....

So, anyway, back to the original post, never mind - I already have a set....
