Gents,
I did a lot today.. But this is part of the old layout that still exists and will! I love this area.. so when coming in, I saw this and thought, "I will take a shot" after looking at it.. it came out pretty cool!

That's what I call switcher territory...beautifully done for sure Dan. Our old friend Ben Brown always told me to plan a visit to see your railroad in person...I will have to do one of these days.

Dan,
Am looking to model a paper mill, also. I am looking at Walthers HO Superior Paper Co as a guide, though I think I will change the design of my buildings around some.
What part of the operation did you model? Paper boxcars In/Out,I'm guessing by the photo. How about other aspects of paper mill operations?
In my small head,I'm thinking this would be in the shipping area, the final stage in paper production, while I'm also thinking,I want an unloading area for boxcars carrying recycled paper & another area for woodchips, sawdust, etc. Then there has to be an area for tank car unloading.
This is working around in the old brain, and also am trying to get a size idea so I'll know where to locate all these buildings.
Thank you for the pictures, any help in my building quest would also be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Nice! Like to see more shots of that Whitcomb, too,
Al,
get a hold of me here.. One thing you have to think about is space.. how much do you have.. There is a lot of area needed to make the scene look great and I found out just making a building out of the box never works because all models are compressed.. So I usually purchase 2-3-4 of the same kit and make it bigger.. O is Big.. so all part of O scale should look BIG!
Here is my email.. dan@m4cg.com
MWB, When I get upstairs, I will get more shots of the Whitcomb.. it is a Overland Models product..
Dan
Gents,
here is the other Paper Mill coming together.. it is a Korber kit with a dock added and a Dock roof.. Plus made the roof and it works great in the area it is in.. the building is 5'9.5" long! 14.5" high.. The dock take (5) 50' boxcars x2.. so (10) 50' boxcars can be spotted at the mill for loading with new paper rolls..

Thanks! These are neat little engines that don't get seen enough in use on a layout.
BXCXDAN,
Hi Dan, can't reach you at your email tried 2 times & it won't go through.

Now thats what I am talking about Danno!!!!! I love the buildings more than the trains (though those are amazing too)!
