Ya know, and this is a REAL shot in the dark, I wish I could get a hold of two of the generators that are in the Menards power and light building by themselves.  I would open up one end of the Kolber power and light building and install them in there so you could see them. Now that would be cool...............Of course I could just buy two power and light buildings and remove the generators but that would cost way too much.....

Troy,

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the generators by themselves. I know a few other people have been looking for them also. Perhaps this is something we should consider for the future. Do you guys think there is a big enough market out there?

Perhaps offering them as a load on a flat car or something like that.  Now that I am bending your ear, and as I have suggested on this forum before,  Menards should offer a large weathered coal mine tipple/building to pull all those new coal hoppers thru.  Something along the size of the recent American power and light building.........

Mark,

Including this generator as a flat car load is a great idea.  I already had a Menards Power & Light, but got a second as the building in Mystery Box.  I decided to convert the building to a service garage and removed the generator set to adapt as a cargo load for a  Chicago & Northwestern 14" flat car.  I think it will look great.

norscot has one cat 3516b package generator set , i have one they are 1/25 scale ,on ebay and google they average about 70-118 dollars .they are diecast with great detail , i bought 2 kober sub stations which i intend to kit bash together ,and put the generator in . these generators in the real world are portable , but put the 1/25 scale generator in  a kober power station t gives it the illusion of a full sized power plant generator in the kober buildings techman

Mark, I was looking for a couple of generators like that but the only ones I could find were die cast models in the $80-100 range.  I had to settle for some "G" scale generators, like the ones Lionel used as loads on some flat cars.  Your generators would be much more impressive and realistic in place of these "G" scale generators.

Those CAT diecasts are very nice but a little pricey.  And the 1/25 scale probably would look quite right on O scale.  Would rather have a couple or so of the Menards plastic ones to place inside the Korber power station, cut away one end of the building so you can see in.  Also light inside the building, which would cast a silhouette of the generators against the diffused windows..........I sure a couple of Menards generators wouldn't be nearly as costly as one of the CAT diecasts.
