I wish there was a Menards close to me. The only problem I see would be that I would be in there every other day buying train stuff.
I used to live in Millard, near there. The closest Menards to me now is probably 600 miles, so I'm not likely to see shelves any time soon.
They usually have Christmas stuff up by Labor Day.
My local Menards has at least one or two shelves of trains all year long.
My local Menards also moved the old stock onto the usual toy department seasonal shelves sometime this month. It does seem earlier this year, in that respect.
New stock generally arrives by mid-October. Sometimes earlier.
That’s not the same as the seasonal decor department (summer garden/patio, back-to-school, Halloween and Christmas rotation), which is usually adjacent to the toy area (summer pool and fall and winter toys).
I live in Bellevue and work in receiving at our Menards part time. It's tiggity tight, and I've been looking for new stuff as we break down trucks. I haven't seen anything as yet.
