You can say anything you want to about Mike, but I feel there are many of us old timers who were sitting around with our PW stuff either not being used or used lightly and who got back into the hobby due to the innovations/quality that his company provided.
I remember the first steam engine of his I ever saw. My son bought it and showed it to me. Just good looking and tough. No talking, DCS, speed control or fancy gizmos....just a great engine. Then the DCS came out.
I can only speak for myself, but I had owned Lionel all my life and MTH got me interested in O gauge again! I would bet I am not the only one either.

Ha, what a great place the internet is. I just did a search on "Local Hero" and found a flic from 1983, British made, with Burt Lancaster. Was that line in the movie? The time frame is about right for when she said it. Who knows maybe she got the line from the movies, but I remember her saying it.

Hi Chuck, yea I think your spot on. I don't understand why some folks can't get over what was just a business transaction to both MTH and Lionel. Come on guys their in business with each other now. Lionel is a toy maker not a religion!

Anybody know the state of the one the Nevada RR Museum was
restoring? It was on the back of their lot when I visited years ago. This was the V&T one. The museum people asked me if I
knew what happened to the one that ran on the short line near
Toledo, Ohio, and had been turned into a diner. I thought I read
that one had burned. True?? Is the V&T one at the Nevada RR
Museum the ONLY surviving McKeen?
I think I heard that a McKeen was sitting on a military base in Alaska along with other old RR equipment. Sorry that I don't have any more on it.
