MTH 20-98284 Union Pacific crane 903050

This MTH model is a very detailed model of the Bucyrus Erie heavy duty crane. The MTH model was first issued in 2003. Two road numbers were available: 903050 and 903044.  Notice that the hooks are all painted red for safety visibility.

Photos of similar prototype cranes.

Cool crane tender.  I had never seen it before.  I checked the MTH web page looks like it has been awhile since they made it.  It appears to be a bobber caboose shell on a flat car. I have the Lionel TMCC crane and tender, its tender is much shorter than this version.  I like the appearance of the longer flat car better than the shorty I have.

The longer tender allows for use with an extended boom on the crane. This long tender is also needed when used with the American crane.
