MTH DR BR44

Ill get some pictures up of these today. They come with a wooden base that I believe you can run them in place.

Thank you; looking forward to see the pictures.  A base that lets you run in place would be a welcomed addition.

This is a pretty sweet engine.  I wish they were all delivered this way!

And yes you can run it on the board.

Dave, thank you for the pictures but I don't see how you could run it on the board in place like it had rollers.

There are four stanchions that bolt the engine to the display board.  They lift the engine up about 1/8th of and inch and do not allow the engine wheels to come in contact with the board.  Pretty slick.

What type of electrocoupler is on the tender.  Is it the typical O gauge knuckle coupler or some other sort?

I sure don't know about the model but, the European railways do not use "couplers" as we in the U.S. know them. They have huge buffers with a link & hook/turnbuckle arrangement to draw the buffers together.

As they are sold in the U.S. market, MTH 3-rail Euro locomotives come with regular Proto-Couplers. European style scale couplers are included in the package for installation by the user, if so desired. Freight and passenger cars come with dummy American style couplers, also with Euro couplers in the package. 

Anybody know when or if MTH is planning to build some freight cars to go with the 2-10-0?
