If the heating elements fail open will the blower motor still run? I have the unit out and apart. Replaced motor and wick, but no smoke and motor does not run...
Yes. When you power up the unit, measure the voltage at the plug the fan motor connects to. Should read 5V (or use a bulb). May be the voltage regulator failed. That can be replaced. G
Is the regulator the first component that sees power? Is passing about 2 volts at wide open throttle...do you have any idea where i could send this for repair?
There is a bridge rectifier and capacitor in front of the regulator.There are also a handful of other components that regulate the voltage going to the two smoke resistors.
