After about 10 minutes of runtime on my northstar set, the ditchlights on the cabcar stopped working in both modes. All I can say is that at least it wasn’t the locomotive. Any fix it thoughts?

I get mine set on Monday so I'll try it out and see if I get the same behavior.  I am just shocked at others actually bought this engine and cars.  It's so niche to an area without a ton of people in the hobby.  I was shocked at MTH ran the paint scheme at all.

Good to know others have them on order, I have seen the northstar trains in Minneapolis many times while visiting family in the area. I plan on sending the cabcar back to mth, after only 10 minutes of runtime.

I was actually a little worried that they might be canceled due to lack of orders. Now that they are hitting dealers, Charlie Ro will probably get mine out in the next couple weeks. My shipments seem to lag a bit from the announcements. I'm very patient when it comes to my trains. I'm still waiting on my theater from Lionel.

I'm glad to see that some other people ordered these. This train is in my back yard, so it's a no brainer for me to want a set.

The current shipment just about broke me, funds-wise: Two U.S. Army 44-Tonners (different cab numbers), two U.S. Army Also S2 Switchers (different cab numbers), two U.S. Army Extended Vision Cabooses, and one Amtrak RailKing "Salute to Veterans" F40PH (I need to see if I can exchange that one for some other engine because I discovered that I already have the Premier version...might like a Strasburg 44-Tonner). Also still need a couple (at least) of the Army flatcars with Sherman Tanks and a couple U.S. Army Flatcars with Ambulances. I probably now have more U.S. Army motive power and rolling stock than the "real" Army has!

I'm currently working on completing clean-up of the basement (where the train room and lounge is) from last Friday's flood, and have the lounge area pretty much complete, sans the area rugs, which had to be discarded). Train room just needs re-boxing of a number of items and I am putting anything that will be on the floor in large heavy-duty plastic tubs. I expect to complete most of that re-boxing today, despite still contending with my latest round of kidney stones. Train room's very large/new area rug also had to be discarded, and it will be replaced with interlocking rubber floor tiles which are quite easy on the feet (still to be purchased). I'm determined to have a train running on the layout sometime tonight.
