Hello! I am new to the Forum. I am wanting to buy a lionel Genset Switcher for my train layout but its min curve they say is 042.  My layout is Fastrack and I have a few 036 curves and switches. Does anyone have any idea if the Genset switcher can run on a 036 Fastrack curve. The Switcher is exspensive and I don't want to get it and it doesn't operate correctly. Please help !!!

Yes, you can add MTH 's dcs system to your layout and run it with that.

Another option would be adding a legacy powemaster which would allow you to run it "conventionally" with the legacy remote.

Conventionally meaning speed control and direction changes are done by varying the voltage with the legacy handheld just like you would with a basic transformer.

The DCS system would probably be the way to go to get full function of all the features that MTH has to offer.

Having Legacy and DCS will allow you more choices of future locos from either brand.

Good luck with your decision!
