Need source for MTH pick-up rollers

Check with ED Bracefield he lives in Concord N.C. I'm sure that he can help you. He once had a train store in Harrisburg N.C. many years ago.

Rick, Now I would doubt if Ed has any since even when he had the store in Harrisburg there was little MTH products.

Now I know the Little Choo-Choo has had them, I have bought them there. They once had two of the "Maintenance Kits." There are several different sizes.

Don't overlook your local hobby shop. Many keep trays of rollers and traction tires on hand.

Rich, what about MTH itself? Give them the item number of your passenger car(s) and they know exactly which rollers you need. Just a thought.

Good call. All you have to do is give Midge the original item number, tell her what you want, how many you want to purchase, and she will get back to you. I always order my MTH parts from MTH!

OK, I removed one of the trucks to see what was involved in replacing the rollers. I was able to press out the rivet and found that I had some Lionel rollers that were practically identical dimensionally with the MTH rollers. The only difference was the roller material. The MTH rollers are a bronze color and hopefully the Lionels are a harder metal.

The MTH rollers were severely grooved (worst I've seen on a train not 50-60 years old) but the wheels & trucks look great. I'll be running these on Super O track so a hardened roller might hold up better, anyway. Thanks again for all of your suggestions!
