it seem's its been a long time since anyone mentioned the new Legacy base . anybody got any idea when it might become available ? I have a lot of the switch controllers and other legacy goodies but no base to use them with. hard to believe what folks want for the old ones. my TMCC system is still working after all these years.

Factory is currently building their first prototypes for approvals before we go into production.
We got through FCC unscathed. The Base3 is functioning wonderfully. We're really ready to get it out to the public!
With approval times, production, and then transit time, we're look around the end of February when it arrives.

Thank you for the latest update on timing Dave! Glad the FCC approval went well. It will be great when it arrives, and hopefully the CAB3 app will be easier to update as needed without concern about hardware updates. The only concern that I have is Apple's continuous "upgrades" to their hardware. I hope that doesn't wreak havoc on Lionel's ability to keep up with the necessary development! Looking forward to it, and hope to see it soon!

Thanks so much for the update. I’m sure you get lots of opinions, but I’ll share another one with you anyway.
The Base 3 will need to work reliably in an unknowable variety of electromagnetic interference / electromatic compatibility (EMI/EMC) environments unique to specific customer homes, facilities, and layouts. There is potential for things to go wrong on a case-by-case basis that are beyond Lionel’s control. Some customers who experience anything but flawless operation are likely to make their experiences known. If you told me I have to wait longer to get a Base 3 but Lionel is using that time to ensure that there is design margin against EMI/EMC risks, I would thank you and wait patiently.
Just one subjective opinion. Looking forward to the Base3!
