Received a full complement of Lionel catalogs and came across two items that I need some information from the group.

First up

6-83490 Coaling tower - is this a real product or artist conception?  Caption splash says new, but might this already be on dealer shelves (Oops, search shows possible June 2016 delivery? if I read it right) ?

Second:

6-14083 Pedestrian Walkover bridge - What is the maximum open span area that trains can pass through? Dimension says 7" but is that to top railing of bridge or to bottom underpass floor of bridge?  Reason I ask, is I need to create an extra long walkover (two walkover bridges spliced midsection) to reach over from one side of tracks to new area and my tracks aren't spaced the normal distance apart.  Went to Lionel website but can't find any dimensioned drawings other than the stated 14 x 13 x 7 inch footprint.

Thanks

Rick O, have you seen that one up close?  Did it look "plasticy" or muted concrete like?  The new one colors looks more gray concrete color which I would be interested in.

In my opinion it looks muted. But the color is a little too yellow for my taste so I passed on this one a few years ago. If they get the color on the "new" one to match closer to real concrete then I'll grab one. Just not willing to pre order and be disappointed.

Here I shot pictures of mine. Colors are all flat, tower itself is a beigey  concrete color. I still want to weather mine.

My  apologies, my trainroom lighting is not the best.

I like it, its one of Lionels better "out of the box" structures. If the new one comes as picured the greys look good.

Thanks Rick for posting pictures.  That structure would certainly attract attention on the layout!

E-Unit, I think tower is static except for lights.  Sure if it was animated, Lionel would make a point of showing what it could do.  Probably the coal chute can be positioned as required to avoid hitting train.
