Liam,

Check under the tender to make sure the sensor is next to the magnet - if it got knocked out of alignment, the alternating poles on the magnet may not be close enough to the sensor to activate the chuff. If it looks ok, trace the wires to the sound board to make sure one of them is not broken.
Liam,
Cool purchase. The locomotive is very nice with some great sounds. My LionMaster T1 has the whistle smoke too. Lots of fun. You will never get tired of hitting the steam whistle LOL. It is quite a neat feature.

I have had a few engines arrive with partial sound issues. Usually it is just a loose wire plug or loose sound board. Either case, just push it in the rest of the way. I hope that is all that is wrong. Let us know and enjoy that engine.

Mike,
That grey box in Liam's video is an MTH Railking Remote Lock-on (receiver). It allows for basic transformer functions to be accomplished remotely with the use of a simple hand-held unit that comes with the Lock-on, to control any brand of conventional loco from up to fifteen feet away from the Lock-on.

The Lock-on can be wired to most brands of three rail track, but plugs straight into MTH RealTrax. Not made anymore, but a few are still available at some dealers.

Thanks for the nice comments! Sorry about the fast start it would have been more smooth if it were not for the slipping. It seems to slip a lot I think it is because it only has two traction tires and I think that also causes a wobble. Did the regular Polar Express berkshires have only two? I also think the sensor is bad because I tried the sugestions and it did not help. I will try to email Lionel today on the problem and hopefully they can just send me a new sensor because the die cast tender would probably cost quite a bit to ship as it is very heavy. I think they did an overall good job on this locomotive and the cab figures are also a nice touch. Thanks
OK video but...

Agreed! IT seems you were too excited when filming. you need to set the camera in one angle and count one-onethousand, two one thousend, three one thousand before changing filming angles. a Tripod would really help! Wink
BTW, what did you use for the "snow" on the car roofs?
