Anyone aware of new MTH commuter projects in the pipeline? Thinking specifically of new locos, cars for cities like Dallas, Minneapolis, San Diego, Washington (Virginia RX), or Vancouver.

I had heard that MTH (Mike Wolf) now has a exclusive contract with Amtrak to be the manufacture of Amtrak product in O gauge. However in the new MTH catalog the only Amtrak product is another run of P42 locomotives and Amfleet cars in both their premier and railking lines.

IMHO MTH should invest in view liners. They will be the amfleet replacement car in the future. Amfleet is nearing their 50 year lifespan.

Yes but scale cars please, 21" and a new ACS 60 would be also be appreciated!
I agree that MTH should seriously consider producing Amtrak Viewliner cars and the ACS-64 electric locomotives. The Amfleet passenger car fleet while are still giving good service since first entering service in 1976 (40 years ago) are being supplemented by the Viewliner baggage cars which are in service, baggage dorms, diners and additional sleeping cars (which are coming next) both in Northeast Corridor and east coast overnight trains. The MTH model of the European Taurus ES-64 is a close cousin to the ACS-64 however I understand that MTH produced their model in 1/45th scale which would make it a little larger than U.S. 0 scale of 1/48 scale.

Maybe he will do something in Philly.
Great thoughts all around guys. I've sent my thoughts to MTH and shared them in person at shows that we sure could buy a lot of ACS 64s and Viewliners. Something fun to look forward to being made later
If MTH doesn't work on the Viewliners soon, I will be forced to custom build one. Plans are in Model Railroader.
