20-93697 I see the cover of the next MTH catalog has the Genesis in the wave scheme (Phase V?) for Amtrak. I'm hoping there will be a scale wheeled version. There has been many cancelations of scale wheeled models. I hope there will be enough interest in this one.

I will be on the fence with this one. I had seen them every day at DC union station.  Their condition as seen at the station was hhhmmm, lets see I need a good word to describe them, what comes to mind Ah ha! they were at best considered to be in a DEPLORABLE condition!  dirty,  banged up,  smoking up the place, rusty faded paint. all  in a smelly rumble waiting on the ready track. , there is a line of them in the repair tracks. They need two to run a train, one is a backup.

They are a dang ugly engine, there for I will most likely buy one.

I pre-ordered the F40PH from MTH from the last catalog. I found another older 2 rail DC model of the same. I have a Genesis that's 3/2 also. That still needs the pilots fixed like Jeff Sohn did.

There was a release of the Genesis in a couple catalogs back. I think it was painted for Amtrak's birthday paint scheme? I missed it and will always regret that. I mean, how many diesels can I have???

edited for Jeff's work credit.

I like the idea of Lionel's cab and cabbage F40PH units. I wish they were set up for my 2 rail layout. I am adding a three rail loop just for stuff like this. Good thing MTH released the F40PH in 2 rail so my wallet is empty! ( I did order the Lionel cars)

PS. the one I missed was the Amtrak F40PH celebration loco from 2012 in this scheme:

I'll take a scale wheels Genesis.  They run a single unit every day on the regional from Lynchburg to DC.  The Crescent has two units on it daily.  Notice the Crescent has two different diesels, new viewliner baggage, amfleet coaches, viewliner sleepers and heritage diner.  Paint one 145 classic paint.   I saw it in Lynchburg in pristine condition earlier this summer.
