I just got a Lionel Legacy GP-9 and GP-35 can I run these together if i give them the same ID on my Lionel TMCC controller??
I do not have the new Legacy System.
I have a large grade and need two owered units and need the effect of cruise control to control speed on the hills.

You should be able to do an MU (lashup) using the TMCC controller.
It is very common to just program them with the same number. They will work very well. The only problem is whan you fire the couplers. You will seperate them. The lashup John mentioned gives you better control of couplers.
And hopefully better lighting effects.
do its OK to run with the cruise/speed control ON with lash-ups??
Lionel's original Odyssey I doesn't do that well in MU configurations, at least for me. Legacy Odyssey II or the ERR Cruise Commander equipped stuff works very well with cruise control on.
Works great with the cruise, the lash up set up was easy
