Here is a preview of the app that has been discussed. It's had a MAJOR upgrade compared to last year's. As the season starts, there will be updates from the road as we're on the road, no social media accounts necessary

765's entire schedule is on the OGR Forum Calendar.
We won't be anywhere near Conway Yard on the Altoona Employee trips. Conway is probably 100 miles west of Gallitzin.
I saw this on May 13 "DEADHEAD MOVE - Cleveland - Conway - Altoona".
I was just hoping to get an idea what time you would be passing conway? I live close to there and was hoping to get a glimpse
Also, keep in mind the pilot crews will be changed out at Conway, so add on another 20-30 minutes for that and possible servicing...
We'll be in Conway at least a couple of hours. We have to get to 1407 track for the water, and that is just about in the middle of the yard. Then we have to thread our way out the east end of the yard back to the main. That's about 5 miles running at restricted speed right there. Factor in the watering and servicing time and you've got 2 hours easy.

And LUNCH!
Better make it 3 hours...
I got tickets for the Saturday run from Lewistown to Galliztin and return! Can't believe I am going on this great excursion. Hope it doesn't rain too hard, but this is central PA!! Looking forward to it!

The Sheetz on Route 65 a mile or so to the east is the railroaders hotspot.
On the last Employee Trip on Sunday, are you going to run the full loop? Considering you'll have to face eastward to go to Enola later in the week...
Or will you turn afterwards/on another date for the ferry move eastbound?
We will turn afterwards/on another date for the ferry move eastbound.
Rich,
Any word on the parking in Lewistown for the trips over the Memorial Day weekend? My brother and I have tickets and will be driving in from out of town. Looking forward to riding behind the NKP 765 after having a chance to photograph it when it passed through Cresson, Pa last year.
Doug
You will get something from Wayne York, our Excursion Manager, with the parking details. I know he has something set up, but I don't know the details.
Ticketed passengers will receive an email with the reserved parking info which will be in the Industrial Park to the north (north side of Duquesne Way and Roundhouse Road). We recommend that you get parked at least one hour before train time-departure at 830 am.
If you are NOT a ticketed passenger, we can't recommend coming into Lewistown to watch the arrival of the Horseshoe Curve Special. We are expecting a lot of casual spectators and the narrow, dead end streets will probably turn into gridlock and there will be no good parking except for ticketed passengers. If you want any other photos along the route, you will probably get caught by the traffic and lack of parking in Lewistown.
Rich,
Do you happen to know what the NS Employee Trip schedule is for May 18? I will be in Altoona for a charity event from 1-4 that day and I may be able to make a side trip to the Curve (if I can convince my companions to indulge me).
Andy
Info about 5/18 is HERE.
Thanks, Rich. Will the departure times from Altoona be published, or do they want to keep that info on the down low (or do they even know yet)?
Andy
1030 and 1430.
1030 and 1430.
Oh ok. I thought I had heard 900 and 1300. Whew. A little bit extra sleep for me then on Saturday morning.
Thanks Rich! We will have some kids with us and we just may be able to catch the first run.

Is it Sunday yet?! Will be in the Vista Dome out of Rocky River. I am planning on wearing my Legacy Users Group polo if Marty ever gets the darn thing sent (Kidding Marty, I know you're busting your tail) Anyways very excited to be on board this weekend.
