Thanks to a book I got on the OCS cars at the N&W #611 Restoration exhibit at the Railroad Memorabilia Show at Gaithersburg in 2013 I was able to get numbers, etc, correct. I had to use N&W passenger car decals, with two letters, "U" and "H" supplied from my inventory of Champs lettering sets. Two of my favorite cars were "Carolina," which has an exhibit of O Winston Link photographs in the lounge area (a close up image shows part of the display; there are a total of seven photographs in the exhibit), and the theater-track inspection car "Buena Vista." I had to compromise in some areas, but enjoyed building the theater seating and the large glassed in observation end of the car.
I've "wrapped" on having CONUS Lines in November 2013, and the time clock is going "back" to November 1954 and the locale to Northern Pacific and a Milwaukee Road detour in Montana. I'm looking at doing the interiors of the then brand new two-tone green scheme for the "North Coast Limited" as well as running NP articulateds in steam's swan song on the "Main Street of the Northwest."
But the NS OCS has been a fun project, albeit at seven months longer than I normally stay in any era/railroad on CONUS Lines. I look forward to a return to the "modern" era in the future, and the OCS will again burnish the rails.
