Hi Ben.
Please put me down for Jan 14th along w three guests, my wife Nancy along w a Tom and Marilyn Smolka. We are all looking forward to a great time along with that gourmet food we have heard about. We have found that the price is right for travel by train from Buffalo, only about 60 bucks per person. We are still checking on lodging as we want to stay near times square. Do the subways travel out to the NJ area where Trainstock is located?

tks.

Ben,
I sent you an email but I wanted to confirm that six members (including myself) of the Black Diamond will be attending. Several of those hope to see a 40+ car train of Autoracks running. looking forward to seeing you and the NJ Highrailers crew.

Hi John and Ben.
The four of us are staying near Times Square for the weekend. What is the best or easiest way to travel to Trainstock 4 from there? We will not have a car, so would a taxi be best as i dont think the subways or Elevated trains go that far?

thanks,

Jim, if I may throw my two cents in, a cab ride would be quite expensive from midtown Manhattan. You might want to look into taking New Jersey Transit rail service out to Paterson or Hawthorne, and then try to get a cab from there to the Hi-Railers. (I would choose Hawthorne, it might be easier to get a cab from Hawthorne, IMO.) Here's a link showing where the trains go.

From your hotel in Times Square you should ask directions to the PATH train to Hoboken. Once there you can transfer to NJ Transit. Maybe someone else has an easier route but if you don't have a car this might be your best bet.
