Not that anybody really cares but ran across some interesting video today, I have been a long time fan of the original Addams family layout and have followed it from it's beginning. Yet today I have found yet another owner of the layout from it's Hollywood days.....Yes it seems that it's last tv show turned out to be the felony squad.....if anybody has beat me to this please send me the post.  But yes I thought that it's last tv show was indeed the 1964 Addams family, but that is not true. It seems that it again turned up in the tv series the felony squad in a 1968 episode.. Yes in fact there it was missing some equipment, but in fact it is the original layout....so this means that this layout went through three different film company's,  mgm studios,   then whoever produced the adams family tv show i have forgot who that was,  but it last Belonged to 20th century fox ..... if anybody wants to know the episode I will go back and get the title

My son made a YouTube video of the Addams Family layout a couple of years ago.  In the video there is a layout from the Twilight Zone that looks like the same layout.  After making the video, he received feedback that some people thought that particular layout design is a display layout design made multiple times by Lionel or perhaps a Hollywood prop company or something.  Check out the video and wait until close to the end with the Twilight Zone part and look at the layouts and compare.  I would love to hear more thoughts on this too.  It is interest that the same layout or design was featured on the felony squad too.

This is such a classic...  I love it!  It's funny how long I had this clip on my favorites playlist without realizing it was posted by GFW Trains.  Thanks for sharing this here.

When I read your post, I figured that Twilight Zone episode would be "The Night of the Meek." One of my favorite TZ's ever, probably in the top 5. That Christmas department store scene with the train layout is basically the opening 20-30 seconds of that episode.

The layout was built by a California Lionel salesman, he was the West coast Lionel rep, it was built for the twilight zone.  Later the adams family bought the layout from mgm studios...after rough abuse and poor treatment  the super o layout was mothballed. Remember i am talking only about the super o layout...after that an 026 gauge layout was built as a sub, but all scenes were of the super o when blown up...and yes it was blown up. If you watch close  both actors flinch, anyway the last owner was the people at 20th century....if you want to see the episode it is on you tube look for kiss me kill you i think that is the episode name...and it stars betty from land of the giants fame..if you remember that show and felony squad then you are a very old fart such as me...

Follow up to a follow up,  the track plan for the super o layout from the twilight zone. Adams family is on e bay under dealer displays, also there is a video of a reproduction layout on you tube and it is as real as the real layout was. Also the layout was never a sale to a dealer display it was built for the show by a Cali rep for lionel...if you look close the adams layout has cork roadbed no dealer display came with cork roadbed, The layout may have been built by Lionel display people . But as this was done in Hollywood it is my contention that this was built by Lionel rep and a few  of his California people due to shipping and distance...

Interesting update...thanks.

Pretty sure that "West Coast rep" was featured in an article several years ago in Classic Toy Trains mag. The article discussed how he acted as liaison between Lionel and the entertainment community to produce layouts that could be used in films and television.

If I'm not mistaken it was the CTT special issue on Lionel Display Layouts.
