Milwaukee Road, Hiawatha...
Hiawatha continued...
This one doesn't fit the criteria of a passenger train, but it's too funny not to use, and it's definitely colorful. Since we're looking at Milwaukee Road, it's going here...
Too bad the Packers lost today.
In OT, no less.
The NFL needs to change the rules for OT. Green Bay, never got the ball.
Streamliner Memories includes not only artwork of the passenger trains themselves, but also the use of art in the cars. For example, Charles Russell's Native American paintings were reproduced and displayed in observation cars and on the menus of the Great Northern's Empire Builder and Western Star.
And the real train:
Again, I am soooo enjoying this. The railroads definitely showed enthusiasm and pride running those wonderful trains.
hey, jon.
would love to get some of those UP and Milw posters. any place to buy them?
I love the old train/travel posters, so much that I printed a bunch, framed them, and hung them in my office at work. Here are the three train posters in the group, note all three were pulled from Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/rich...e/train-posters-art/).
Murnane, great looking posters, and thanks for the link. I've seen the website referenced when doing Google searches, but hadn't checked it out.

I've stumbled across several of the Milwaukee posters listed on eBay, and suspect one would also find some UP along with other there as well. I'm certain if you did a Google search that it too would yield results. Good luck and please let us know of any success.

Forrest:
Many of the images Jon is posting are actually enlargements of pamphlets, brochures and timetables so they're not posters per se. I have a lot of this material in my own collection so I've been recognizing the images as he posts them. Keep checking the auction site and you'll see these items come up from time to time.

While true that several images are lifted from brochures and time tables, much was used in calendar art, print ads, and indeed posters. Quite often an image would share duties across a broad spectrum. Individual mages used in composite print work would also most likely available as a post card.

Understood. As a long time participant in the memorabilia segment of the hobby, I'm well aware certain images were used in multiple ways such as the PRR's use of Grif Teller works on timetables and calendars to name just a few. I just wanted to caution Forrest before he begins looking for items which may or may not exist.

Excellent points, Bob. Would-be collectors should also be aware and take note of the many reproductions and fantasy works such as this titillating pinup...
There's dozens of these available in your favorite road.
Mill City, Do you have any posters/artwork on the Southern Railway/Railroad??
