Just got it. Came faster than expected.
It is super cool. Finish is awesome. I took a video to hopefully show it better than still pictures.
I think it will looks amazing changing colors around the track and really catch everyone’s eye.

As cool as this looks, and I'm not sure if it's my eyes, but I'm a little concerned about the pasty gray looking smokebox and if they got on the Nickel Plate models.

Smooth finish. Has almost a glitter or metallic flake finish like a car.
A wonderful locomotive and a fantastic edition to the Christmas and Polar Express line, thanks for sharing pictures. It looks better than the early production model that Lionel shared a couple of months ago. There is a coupon out there, "Polarset20", that I received via Lionel e-mail for 10% off PE items.
Reminds me of the ford mustang mystic cobra I owned years ago. People would just stare at the car !!

Please explain the tender truck situation. The pictures are dark in that area to where I can't really tell any details.

Great looking… went to order one today and they sold out. Ah well, my wallet didn’t it need it.
I just wish they did something like the gold set again, an entire plasma loco and passenger cars would have been crazy cool! IMO.
I had a red set on order but I passing after the initial video. If it was a metallic red, it would have been amazing!
