Just wondered if anyone has built a credible model of the Point of Rocks station in Maryland.  I'd a beautiful structure, built out of red brick, fairly old and situated right at the junction of the old C&O (B&O?) lines from he West and divides between the line going to Baltimore and the one going to Washington, DC.  We pass it whenever we go to our daughter's for a visit and always admire it's stately beauty.

That's all original B&O lines there, the C&O ran in Virginia.
The station was built in 2 parts; the eastern 1 story part was apparently built in 1871, the western portion that is larger and 2-story  was built in 1875. In June, 1931, lightning struck the station; the resulting fire badly damaged the structure. Fortunately B&O management saw fit to rebuild back to its original state.

I started train-watching there in 1986, spent much time in that general area over the next 20 years.
The station building itself is probably the least changed thing in Point of Rocks, as creeping suburbia has transformed the little village into a bedroom community, with the parking lots for the MARC service extended to where the original town site stood; all buildingsHPIM6316 in the Potomac River flood plain have been removed since 1996.
