I am reworking my Eola Yard by taking out the previous two track Intermodal yard and making it into a four track small holding and classification yard.  I also needed a yard lead track to be able to switch in it without fouling my mainline.

Here are a number of pictures of the progress.  It's not done yet.  It will have four tracks, all be pull through, and have a short yard lead.  I also got rid of a troublesome curved switch that I had an the exit to the main on the right-hand side.

This is the North yard on the NLOE club layout. The first two tracks to the extreme left are the mainlines. Inside of them are staging tracks. On the right is the primary yard which has seven storage tracks plus a run around track. This yard is used for both freight and passenger trains since it also connects to the passenger station which is further to the right and not in the picture.

WOW!! This is very impressive along with the others! I really like the yard below the bridge a lot! It reminds me of when I was in Chicago and riding over bridges and seeing the huge yards! That aspect when definitely be incorporated onto my layout! Thanks for the great pictures! I can't wait to see more! -David

The NJ High Railers layout is one of my favorite layouts! I haven't seen it in real life but the first time seeing in an OGR magazine it was love at first sight! I love aspect of this layout but my favorite is the diesel yard with the moving transfer table! Are you a member there? Thanks for the great pictures! -David

I have 12 yards on my layout, and 11 are double ended. Three are storage / staging. Two of those located below the main levels of the layout.

The large one has five tracks that are 120' long each. I store up to 5 trains on each track. There's no good way to see this in a single shot because of its size.

This is the small hidden yard. It has 7 tracks that hold one train each.

Sorry in advance for all the clutter in these next photos. Been working hard on a lot of stuff.

The three tracks on the right are another storage yard. This is a very old photo. This area was completed long ago. Eventually a bluff with a lift off top will cover this over.

Moving to the upper deck, which is really just one long string of yards, this is Midway Intermodal.

and finally the "A" Yard, still under construction.

I have plenty of rolling stock to populate all of these. I'm just holding back until more of the construction is done.

You're welcome David. There are a lot more pictures where that came from. All you have to do to see them is click on the link in my signature below. That topic has been running for more than two and a half years.

Your layout is impeccable! I found it on youtube around Christmas and watched all of your videos! The mountains painted on the walls really compliment everything! Thanks for sharing with me! -David

It does at that.

How big are the requirements of a 4x8 layout in O gauge?

I do plan a larger yard when I get to building in a 12x12 room in a year or two.

Everyone, these are great photos of very nice yards large and small!
