Hi All.
OK, it is 45 minutes into November the First... has anybody figured out how to gain access to the OGR Digital Library?
Just wondering...

I admire your enthusiasm I forgot all about the change happening today untill you posted. I'll have to poke around and see if I can find it.
Well, I could not find anything. Of course, the day is not over. Perhaps they will make the sswitch this morning or at least post instructions.
How many mooks stayed up until 12:01 and started clicking looking for the "Premium Membership Privileges" and are now all bent out of shape because they weren't their? LOL!
Geez now I need to remember what my username and password was for the Digital Edition. Then again I see my "Premium Member Status" hasn't even kicked in so the point may be moot.
Marty:
Being a digital subscriber , I received an email yesterday with instructions for the free year of premium membership. However, by following the instructions/link provided, I ended up creating a new account. Thus, the premium status does not attach to my original account. I currently do not know if the accounts can be combined, but I do appreciate the gift from the OGR folks.

Chris has told me the same thing about the email. Checked my SPAM folder and everything. I suspect, because I had to change email addresses and such in the middle of my DE subscription, that it might be lost. I had issues with renewals emails too.
I have already emailed Rich to alert him. No worries. It will be sorted out.
I was looking forward to the digital issue...thinking of dropping the printed issue and just browsing in the dig issue.
But where is it? Don't see the sub link anywhere.
Before anyone ask, to get to the Archives click on the 3rd grey icon on the toolbar. It looks like a folder

Not sure if he has reopened the digital sub yet, soon I imagine
well for me it was easy to get my premium membership as being a digital subscriber all you do is this.
sign in to forum go to where a grayed out picture is/your personal added picture and click on it then go to premium membership and it will show in print when your subscription ends in 2013!
just as the webmaster said it would be an automatic setup as it would do all the rest all we had to do was sign in.
worked for me fella's.
I want to thank the entire OGR staff for this bonus and I have to admit the first time in a windows pc era that it did exactly as said it would do.
thanks again to all OGR staff and please keep the digital editions going so much easier to save and read on a computer and the trees appreciate it too.

I'll have more about this later. I got sidetracked with a last-minute flight today.
CLICK HERE to visit the OGR Digital Library.
Chris, I don't know what you did, but whatever it was, it wasn't right. As $oo Line just posted, it should have set you up with your Premium Membership. I'll check into it when I get back to the office. In the meantime, go back to that email and re-read it. All you should have to do is click the link and set your password.
Chris Cook,
Did you use two different emails: one for your digital subscription and one for your OGR account? I have that issue. My OGR forum uses an older email which I was planning on getting updated. My OGR digital uses my current email. When it asks me to sign up, it is asking me to create a new account. Instead of setting up a duplicate account, I emailed Rich asking him to tie the premier subscription my OGR forum account and to update my email.
Chris
Chris:
You have hit the nail on the head. The link provided had a pre -filled display name and would not let me change it. I am enjoying the benefits of the premium membership, only under a new account. I am sure a couple of key strokes on Rich's end can fix the issue.
Chris Cook.
I'll just have to wait patiently until Rich can work mine out. Looking forward to getting the Digital Edition again.
It's nice to have but it looks just like the one I have on my coffee table!
I just logged in using my forum ID and I'm into the digital archives.
Rich
No problem. I actually anticipated some issues with mine since we've had some issues with my DE account.
Thanks for the update.
Dumb question Rich. I had no problem logging in with the link in this thread, but I can't find where I'd login from the home page to access the digital library. Where is that link?
I just clicked on the link Rich provided and there it is, looking just a nice as the print edition. Very nice!

Whew...I can't keep up with you guys!
I was just working on the home page link when you posted this and it is there now. I would suggest you GO TO THE LIBRARY and then BOOKMARK that page. Then you'll always have it handy.
I can find the libary, it just won't let me log in. Is there a way to change password and username.
Bill
Bill, I was to embarrassed to ask.
Larry
You log into the OGR Digital Library with the same email address and password that you use to log in here.
Perfect, Thank You.
Will the digital-edition subscribers continue to have access to the prior digital versions of OGR without a premium membership?

Thanks, I see it now. Works like a champ, thanks again.
Works for me!

Worked like a charm first try..... Looks good !!!
Hi All,
I just got home from a busy day at "the salt mines" and tried the link that Chris provided along with the instructions from Rich.
It worked perfectly, thanks to the both of you!
Best,
Dave
RICH -
IF YOU'RE STILL ON - I JUST TRIED MY EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD. NO ACCESS
I EVEN CHANGED MY PASSWORD IN MY OGR PROFILE AND IT DIDN'T WORK. USED THE SAME PASSWORD AND IT VERIFIED OK AFTER THE CHANGE BUT STILL NO GO.
I HAVE USED IT PREVIOUSLY FOR MY DIGITAL ACCOUNT.
MY EMAIL IS: jamesmar77@verizon.net
THANKS
FREIGHTRAIN
Jim, check your email. I just sent you a message explaining this in detail.
You are trying to log in with the WRONG account. You used two different email addresses between here and the old digital edition, and that is the problem.
I think that is my problem to. So what can i do? different email addresses between here and the old digital edition, and that is the problem. So Coverleaf don't work any more?
Alan, what are the two email addresses you used? I can tell you are not logged into your Premium Account because it does not say "Premium Member" under your Avatar.
Coverleaf can still be used to see other titles, however OGR will not be there any more.

I had the same issue. Given the choice of using the new Premium account created or my current one, I just bought the new membership and kept my current account.
Sure I passed up a freebie but in reality my DE subscription was due for renewal and I had a lot of posts and pictures associated with my current screen name. I use the history feature to see threads I've posted in to follow them. It just depends on if your current account's value is worth the new Premium Account.
The way I look at it, the $29 bucks for the DE and Library was well worth it. Your mileage may vary. Rich was very accommodating but in the end the choice was easy for me.
It's working great! Thanks Rich!

Let me get this straight. If you sign up for the premium issue you lose your name and have to get a new account?

I didn't. premium member just showed below my name. and it was as fast.
No. If you had the DE and used a different email address you may, otherwise you are fine.
