Opened my Vision reefer sound car today and programmed as usual. When "set" was pushed on the Cab-2 the car responded properly. I can generate sounds from the Cab-2 remote but there are no sounds when the car is moving. I read the manual and used the "A" and "B" buttons as instructed that are supposed to turn on/off sounds to no avail. Is this a shipperoo back to Lionel?

You may have already tried this when you read the manual, but FWIW, use the train link button to gain access to the buttons on cab2 for sounds while running. See the pics. I always build a train when using the VL car(s). Select the engine then add the car id, when set and running you again use train link to use the sounds you want. Forgot, there is a volume knob under one of the roof hatches too. Hope you get it working, the sounds are great.

Check the wheels sensor and associated wiring, that's how the car knows it's moving.
Many thanks, TEDW,
I'll let you know if I get it working !

Thanks, John.
I did that but don't really know what to look for.
Assume the Min/Max switch is set to Max, and you have set the type to FRT on the Cab-2?

yes to all
How about the different volume adjustments?
Aux1 up vol, Aux1 up vol, Aux1 up vol, etc....background sounds
versus just up vol, up vol, up vol, etc...overall volume.

Problem solved. At Gunrunnerjohn's suggestion, I checked the various elements of the mechanism on and around the axle where the electronics are located. One plastic disc on the axle was separated from its smaller mate and, once remounted, the sound works fine. Thanks John !!
Sometimes it's the simple stuff.
