I recently acquired an older set of MTH F-3' with a 8.4 volt battery. The battery that came it it was way past dead. The locomotives have never seen the track until today. I charged the new battery for about three hours and then ran it with speed control on it ran great and the sounds were excellent. I do not have DCS so I turned speed control off with the one horn two bell combo. The sound immediately went down. It ran perfect with plenty of speed and pulling power. I have never owned a PS 2 8.4 volt locomotive before. Does anyone know if this is common for these locomotive to do this. This is a beautiful set of locomotives that I would hate to have to replace the PS 2.0 boards with PS 3.0.
