In the most recent Ryan and Dave show, they say "there's gonna be no tether between the engine and the tender like there was in the last release." Did the original have a wired tether? If not, then what is this statement supposed to mean?

Yes it had a one wire tether.
Thanks for the quick answer Marty. I never knew about this wire until now. Any idea what it's for?
Apparently, the wire was for the extra speaker in the locomotive and plugged in like a headphone jack does.
The first release Vision Tender wire is a pain to put in. Have to about put the engine on its side. My kid even broke it off once and had to fix it. Glad they nixed that one.
