I installed both the Electric Railroad Cruise Commander and Railsounds Medium Steam boards and everything (engine movement response and sounds) worked great. Next I hooked up the electro-coupler. The instructions gave no clear direction as to which wire was suppose to go to which post on the connection for the rear coupler on the CC board. After trying the coupler and it not opening I noticed that the sound no longer worked. The engine moved fine but no sound. Could hooking up the leads for the coupler have somehow fried the sound board? I reversed to coupler lead connections and the coupler opened by the sound still does not work.

Thank you, harmonyards and cjack for responding to my post. I took resistance readings of the coupler itself 6.4 ohms and then between each wire and, first the coupler body and then the tender frame. These were all infinite resistance readings, so all looked fine. Said a prayer. I then re-entered the engine into the Legacy remote, resetting the engine and the sound returned. I then reattached the coupler with the leads reversed from the first time and everything works and continues to works. I don't know exactly what changed but I'm glad it's working. Thanks again.
