The freight rolling stock in the 7 1/2" gauge clip is beautiful - sure couldn't sneak those by the missus.

There's an O scale live steam cab forward either in the SF bay area or around Sacramento. Lots of fun to watch. Radio controlled. I think it's fired by denatured alcohol, but it could be propane. Been awhile since I've seen it, though. That Big Boy sure is fine.

Why is that guy walking around as he rides and what is that iron pick he is carrying?

Will he let anyone else get a turn at the controls?

I found the most interesting thing about the video is that afive inch gauge live steam loco does not make as much noise as O gauge electrical operated locos with sound.

Why have 5" or 7.5" when you can go with the grand gauges of 15" and 24"?

Like the prototype you'd have to put 100 cars behind it for it to have enough work to make any noise.

It looks like the drivers are really struggling for traction. Especially at 3:11 when it's pulling two people. I wonder how practical this is.

Wow! Now that is an interesting part of the hobby! You would not need to worry about wiring track and transformers. How would you explain one of these being dropped off by UPS? I am thinking an iron skillet might be dropped on my head.

I don't want to hijack a thread but we have issues that make TMCC, DCS, and DCC look like putting a battery into a flashlight! Our signal system has a radio in each signal head that 'talks' to the next signal down the line that in turn continues the info all the way back toa computer some 5 miles from the arthest out signal! So yes the problems with wireing don't go away they just change to something different! Russ
