If any of you guys are interested in seeing and HEARING P-51s going overhead, flying the way it was designed to do, I invite you to mark the first weekend in June down, and head to the Reading WWII Weekend in Reading PA. Yes, it's the same Reading as the Reading RR and their famous T1 powered Ironhorse Rambles. The airshow and WWII reinacting take place at the Reading Airport. BTW, there is a heck of a lot more to see besides Mustangs!
Ted (TedsGG1) on this Forum is one of the show announcers, and does a bangup job! Not to mention he has a very nicely restored Willys jeep...

PS Bigkid, One quick correction: The first Mustang airframes were powered with Allison engines, not PWs. The PW is a radial, not an inline engine.

Al, I plan to go. My plans have just firmed up and I need to respond to Alex. Sorry you can't make it. Regards, Pat

"thank you" for setting the facts straight, hearing from the former P-51 pilot and thank you for protecting our country SMILE. I wonder how did the ME109"K" and FW190-D9 compared to the P-51's ?
