I have the NYC ABA, mine will do O27 but they don't like them, and they really don't like my switches. If I remember one thing that helped was taking off the Rubber Diaphrams between the units. They were getting caught up and derailing them. What I can't remember is if they come out or if I had to razor knife them.
I'll have to look when I get home. Good Luck.
Sorry to say, but mine are junk. They derail any place they want, no matter what layout they are on. Now ,they just sit on the shelf..
My A unit runs alone fine. The stiff couplers and diaphrams cause one unit to derail when run as a combo of any A or B units. So I grabbed a set of MTH RK F-3 D&RGW AB and they run fantastic! So it looks like these will pull the Pole Express cars. (PE steam loco didn't like O-27 either) Thanks all!
Do you have O-36 track to test the BEEFs operation on a larger diameter?
BEEFs have considerable issues with torque steer. Try running them with the unpowered A unit in front. You will have to rig a headlight at that end, which is challenging...

That's the smallest I have..
That is not great news. Did this model end up with poor weight distribution?
I run my PA. ABA RMT Beep diesels on k-Line shadow rail with 031 curves and they run fine including going over some switches. I originally had the AA units and they barely pulled 4 passenger cars but with the powered B unit it works much better and can pull 5-6 cars.

I set up my ABA units on my layout and they ran fantastic. Set up some Lionel O-31 I had....ran ok but not as well but did not derail. So O-27 seems to be the issue......funny how RK F-3 does great......the BEEF's long WB and couplers do it in.
