I've lurked around the RMT Booth at several Yorks admiring their trains. When the BEEFS were announced the curiosity factor cranked up pretty high. My wife picked up the PRR set for me for Christmas - the A-B-A and four passenger cars. She phoned in and spoke to Walter to place the order. She couldn't speak more highly of him and the transaction. She was really excited to explain how it all went down.

Long story short... these things are awesome. I liked the set so much that I went online and picked up the SANTA-FE during the sale. If you don't own a set of these, I'd highly recommend them. They are durable - so the small kids can play with them and for sheer fun value - very tough to beat. They'll make you smile the first time you run them because they're very different - whimsical maybe?
They'll keep you smiling too, because these things just flat out run. Not much too worry about in terms of smoke units (don't have em') or other fancy extras.
Finish is outstanding - nice paint and great graphics on the two sets we own.

Just thought I'd mention this as a positive experience from start to finish.
Also want to thank Walter for helping my wife with the initial purchase. She's a true RMT fan at this point. Lucky me!

John Newberger...Wait until you see the BEEFs pulling the new RMT 4 car streamline passenger car sets. Each car is approx. 13 inches long. That is a good reason to have an A-B-A set of BEEFs.

I have received final production photos of these cars and they look great...especially the Texas Special, Alaska 'Aurora' amd the NSOU Inspection Train.

Should be available by April York.

Thanks.

Great... I'm starting to feel like other guys on this Forum ... need another revenue stream for the "habit". Funny you should mention Streamline cars though, because I was running these last night and thought, "Boy, wouldn't a set of streamliners look cool?" Mostly because of the squared off observation car.

Are you taking requests? How about a Streamlined HIAWATHA! Would buy the whole set and a spare for the nephew!

Thanks for all the hard work you do - love the trains.
I like the BEEFS - when they were first out I got an A-B-B-A set. Only thing I did was to move the guts of one powered B unit to the unpowered A unit, so that I can run an all-motor A-A or A-B-A set if I want. These are really nice units although I wish they were "geared" (electronics) to run a lot slower.
I just haven't taken to the PEEPS. Cute, I admit, and no doubt of the usual very high RMT quality, but just not quite long enough or era enough for me.

Below you see three passenger cars I made for my BEEPWorld portion of my layout, where nothing beyond the length of a BEEP or dockside switcher is permitted. You can also see two bashed BEEPs and some other shortened cars, too. I made these three short passenger cars from two Lionel Atlantic and Western passenger cars (plastic bodies, easy to bash). I want to make about six cars in a superchief like aluminum style similarly for my BEEFs and am looking at some Williams plastic mid-50s style cars for the donor bodies.
