Roof pieces for prewar passenger cars? And Dorfan ID?

Yup, American Flyer and Dorfan.

the AF Pullman looks like a 3161 and the Pullman observ a 3152. Not aware of any replacement roofs (rooves?) but complete donor cars aren't all that bad pricewise.

 the Dorfan Observ. will be a lot tougher, you usually find them paired or trio-ed with a Seattle Pullman and/or a Boston Pullman (have seen Atlanta Pullmans in red as well) but your Observ. appears to have roofs held on with two finials. That makes them especially hard to come by.

Umm, I guess I should have posted those queries in the "Tinplate" forum. I am puzzled by the curious old single-groove brass track-pin.

I've pulled similar pins out of prewar switches. The round blunt end is the end that was crimped into the factory rail. The metal switch lanterns are almost worth their weight in gold on the bay. I still use my prewar switch controllers with my 222/223 switches. A few nice looking items.
