I have a Weaver GP38 that ran great with an MRC Dualpower 027 but it won’t run with a vintage ZW. The diesel sound comes on but no lights or motion. Is there a way to make this work?

What's the Weaver Product No. (from the flap on the end of the box)?

I'd be surprised if it would still run with the MRC transformer in that case. I can't imagine enough difference in the AC coming from the MRC vs the ZW, I suspect there's more to the story.
The number on the box is U7579LP.
Do other engines operate okay with the ZW ? If you go back to the MRC transformer. Does it still run correctly with that. Newer electronics can be finicky with some power supplies. A ZW doesn’t seem to have a problem with anything that I can remember. If I looked it up correctly. The engine is a B&M and features an EOB board with Railsounds.
If you have a manual. Check to make sure all your switches are in the proper positions to run conventionally.
