Hey Gang,

I'm sure this fix will end up costing some money, but I'm going to run it by you guys first to see if I've missed anything.

I have a Lionel GP-30 with TMCC/Odyssey, an AtlasO SD-35 with TMCC/no Odyssey, and an AtlasO GP-35 with ERR Cruise Commander. I have set the stall speed on all three locomotives, but as I understand stall, that only starts the locomotives moving at the same time. Once I turn the remote throttle, they all run at different speed. The GP-35 with ERR has a "nudge" feature that gets the speed between it and the other two locomotives close, but is useless since the other two are a hare and tortoise.

I think if I replace the current motherboard on the SD-35 with an ERR Cruise Commander, that would help it play better with the GP-35 with ERR. Both locomotives appear to have the same gear and motor size.

So what do I do about the Lionel GP-30? I think it would make more sense to swap out its motherboard too. The ERR "nudge" feature would certainly help.

Do you guys have suggestions?

before doing that try some resistors between the wire and the tab on the top of the can motors , low value resistors maybe 40- 70 ohms or so might slow the jack rabbit , resistors are pennies , you only need one per motor or 2 per engine , and you buy a few different values and try them till you get the speeds close , set up side by side test tracks and I guess make a lash up but run each loco on a different track once you get them all tracking the same distance  you have solved the problem , time consuming but easier and cheaper than what you are proposing .
