I bought a new VisionLine Hudson, what a awesome locomotive. The only issue I have is that the rear coupling smokes when being actuavated . I works good but smokes when being used, I would think that this is bad, but it works great.

Not good at all Gary. It would indicate the coil is being powered much longer than necessary. Is your coupling button sticking? One way or the other, the coil will burn out if you continue to use it in this condition.
Are you sure that's not a "simulated rust/dust" feature? 
Doesn't look normal to me. Is there any evidence of excessive lube built up around that coupler for some reason? Maybe its just oil flashing off.

Thas what was surmised the last time this issue came up.
I have a legacy k4 that did the same thing. The coupler never got hot and the was no burning smell so I left it alone. Eventually it stopped smoking.
Sure that isn't dry powered Teflon? I have not seen this before.
Not sure how hard it is to separate the tender, but if you can, hold it vertically over a piece of shiny black paper and give it a few knocks - see what lands on the paper. Chuck's explanation sounds pretty reasonable to me … but then I don't anything newer than early 2000's, so......
I think this was mentioned before here in the forum, the consensus was it was lubricant. It looks like the coupler is working normally, my guess is it will disappear after some time and activation.

The remote button is working as it should.
Don't tell Lionel; they'll try and fob it off as "Simulated Air Hose Disconnect" or some such.
